If your teeth are excessively sensitive, we recommend doing two 30 minute sessions separated by a day or two instead of one 60-90 minute session; we also recommend using toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth. Do not use a whitening, abrasive, or tarter control toothpaste if you have sensitive teeth. Teeth also become sensitive during whitening because they are not exposed to your saliva, and therefore they become dehydrated.
